Botany
Neroli oil is an essential oil produced from the flower of the bitter orange tree Citrus aurantium. Classified in perfumery in the Hesperidae family, its smell is characteristic and similar to that of the bergamot flower.
It takes 1 tonne of these handpicked flowers to obtain 1 kg of Neroli essence.
History
Around 1680, Anne-Marie Orsini (née Marie-Anne de la Trémoille), Duchess of Bracciano and Princess of Nerola, made bitter orange essence fashionable by using it to perfume her gloves and bath.
Since then, the name Neroli has been used to describe this essence.
Properties
Neroli Essential Oil is rich in terpenes, which gives it antioxidant properties.
This patented property brings plumpness and suppleness to the skin.
The Kiotis laboratory has shown, through in vitro scientific tests, that Neroli Essential Oil prevents dehydration and rehydrates the skin in depth.

Its whiteness is a symbol of virginity and purity. The Romans used to offer garlands of these flowers to newlyweds.
