Botany
Originally from India, the lemon tree thrives around the Mediterranean, in California, South America and Africa.
The lemon tree rises about 5 meters above the ground, and it can reach a height of 10 meters. Its thorny branches bear fragrant, evergreen, oval and toothed leaves.
Young shoots and buds are tinted purple.
The burgundy-red floral buds flourish into white and pinkish flowers that exude a sweet, citrusy scent.
Its green fruits turn bright yellow in the cold.
History
When chased from the earthly heaven with Adam, Eve took with her a golden fruit. Adam, fearing God's wrath, begged her to throw it away. She agreed to do so in a place of her own choosing. After crossing mountains, valleys and plains... Garavan emerged before them. Struck by the beauty of the gulf and the mild climate... Eve buried the lemon in the ground, where the city of Menton was then born...
Properties
Small Grain Lemon Tree Essential Oil is known in cosmetics for reducing oily skin- and oily hair-related issues thanks to the presence of terpene esters in its composition.
The Kiotis laboratory has shown, through in vitro scientific tests, that Small Grain Lemon Tree Essential Oil stimulates the barrier function by strengthening cohesion between cells.
This Kiotis-patented property protects the skin and helps regulate its levels of hydration.
